Sunday School Ministry
ABOUT THIS Ministry
Nurturing Young Hearts to Know Jesus
At International Christian Fellowship (ICF), our Children’s Ministry provides a safe, welcoming, and loving environment where children discover God’s love, learn His Word, grow in faith, build friendships, and develop a personal relationship with Jesus through Bible teaching, worship, and creative activities.
Our Vision For Children
We believe that every child is created by God, deeply loved by Him and has a God-given purpose. Our desire is not simply to teach children Bible stories, but to help them understand how God’s Word connects with their everyday lives. We encourage children to:
- Know and love Jesus
- Understand God’s Word
- Develop a life of prayer
- Discover their God-given gifts and purpose
- Learn biblical values and Christian character
- Build positive friendships
- Learn to care for and serve others
- Grow in confidence to live out their faith
We want to see children grow into young people who know Christ, love His Church, and are prepared to serve Him wherever He leads them.
Sunday School
Learning God’s Word in a Fun and Engaging Way. Our Sunday School provides a welcoming environment where children can learn about God through teaching, interaction, creativity and play. We believe children learn best when they are actively involved. Rather than simply listening to a lesson, our teachers use Bible stories, songs, games, crafts, discussions, activities, demonstrations, and creative learning to help children understand and remember God’s Word.
Every Sunday provides an opportunity for children to discover something new about God and learn how they can apply His Word in their daily lives.
Learning Through Activities
We believe that learning should be joyful, memorable and meaningful. Throughout the year, we organize special activities and programmes that allow children to learn while having fun and building relationships. These may include:
- Bible-based games and activities
- Arts and crafts
- Memory verse challenges
- Worship and children’s songs
- Bible storytelling
- Group discussions
- Drama and role play
- Team activities
- Creative competitions
- Prayer activities
- Special celebrations
- Educational and recreational events
These experiences help children connect biblical truth with real-life situations while developing friendships with other children in the church.
Kids Fun Days & Special Events
Celebrating Faith, Friendship & Fellowship. One of the special ways we engage our children is through Kids Fun Days and other children’s activities. These events provide children with opportunities to enjoy games, creative activities, fellowship and fun in a safe and encouraging environment. We also come together to celebrate special days and important occasions throughout the year. These celebrations give children opportunities to participate, use their gifts and experience the joy of being part of the church family.
Whether through a special programme, children’s presentation, celebration, or fun activity, we want our children to know that they belong and they have an important place in the church.
Dedicated Teachers & Volunteers
Serving Children with Love. Behind our Children’s Ministry is a team of dedicated teachers and helpers who have a genuine heart for children and a desire to see them grow in Christ. Our teachers do more than prepare lessons. They invest time in getting to know the children, listening to them, encouraging them and creating an environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and expressing themselves.
Through their commitment, patience and love, our teachers seek to model the character of Christ and demonstrate what it means to follow Him.
We are grateful for every teacher and volunteer who gives their time, gifts, energy and heart to minister to the next generation.
A Safe & Nurturing Environment
A Place Where Children Can Belong. We desire our Children’s Ministry to be a place where children feel safe, accepted, and cared for. Children are encouraged to ask questions about God and faith without fear. We want them to know that their thoughts, experiences and questions matter.
Our teachers seek to create an atmosphere where children can:
Learn • Ask • Explore • Worship • Create • Connect • Grow
As children develop friendships and relationships within the church, they also begin to understand that they are part of a wider Christian family.
Partnering With Parents & Families
Faith Begins at Home. We believe the church and the family have an important role to play in nurturing a child’s faith. Sunday School is only one part of a child’s spiritual development. Parents and families have a unique opportunity to reinforce what children learn at church through prayer, Bible reading, conversations and everyday examples of Christian living.
We encourage parents to talk with their children about what they learned at Sunday School, pray together and create opportunities for children to ask questions about their faith.
We are committed to supporting parents as they seek to raise children who know, love and follow Christ.
Building A Foundation For Life
The early years are an important time for developing values, identity and faith. Our Children’s Ministry seeks to plant biblical truths that children can carry with them as they grow. Through consistent teaching, loving relationships, prayer and practical experiences, we want to help children develop a foundation that will encourage them to remain rooted in Christ throughout their lives.
